What these books promise

No jargon left undefined Every term is explained the first time it appears. If you meet a word you do not know, that is a mistake on our part, and we want to hear about it.
Researched, not recalled Nothing is written before it is checked.
The women's game is a subject, not an appendix An entire volume, researched on its own terms — from the 1921 ban to a fourteen-club WSL — rather than a chapter bolted onto the end.
Written for adults who were never taught You are treated as intelligent and simply uninformed. That distinction is the whole voice, and it is the reason these books exist.

There are no reviews on this site yet, because it is new. These are the things you can check for yourself instead.

Why this exists

Nobody should feel shut out of something this enjoyable

Football is not complicated. It is just that most people who love it learned it young, absorbed it sideways, and have no memory of ever being taught — which makes them terrible at explaining it. So the people who arrive later get told to work it out, and mostly give up.

These books are the explanation nobody bothered to write down. No jargon left undefined, no assumption that you already know, and no pretending the women's game is a footnote.

We hope that, for some readers, a love of football becomes a way into reading: short chapters, plain English, and a subject they already care about.

The questions people actually ask

I know nothing at all about football. Is this really for me?

Yes — that is precisely who book one is written for. It starts at what the game is, why anyone cares, and where the eleven players stand. It assumes no prior knowledge whatsoever and never makes a joke at your expense.

How is the ebook delivered?

Your ebook download link is sent by email after your order.

Reading tip: For the best layout, open your ebook in Apple Books, Google Play Books or your Kindle app (choose "Send to Kindle" on the download page). The BookFunnel app can occasionally cut off the edge of a page. If that happens, switch to one of the apps above or tap "Read in browser".

Is this written for American readers or British ones?

Both, deliberately. The spelling and idiom are British, because it is a British-origin sport and the authority of the voice depends on it. But nothing assumes you grew up with the game, and American reference points are used wherever they make something clearer.

Anything else, just ask. A real person reads every email.
